people aren't even taught about US Geography in school, I'd be damn surprised if they were even taught anything outside of our borders that isnt WW1/WW2

The octane rating of gas your car runs best on depends on how the engine is designed. But using higher octane gas than your car requires isn’t actually better for your car. The FTC sums it up this way: “In most cases, using a higher octane gasoline than your owner’s manual recommends offers absolutely no benefit.”

There really are a lot people out there that don't follow (geo)politics at all.. and i'm like

There's a study that shows the less you know about geopolitics the happier you are

  • Mar 3, 2022

I knew western streets were done when you say “Genghis Khan” for greatest emperor ever and people say “who?”

I know but it’s just a matter of preservation, im not an expert on cars but i bought it used and the previous owner used premium so going to regular will definitely create some knocking noises due to the drop in octane it’s used to

Must be somewhat true. You don't have to think about all the drama in the world. Less cynical probably too

Although there def more factors to 'happiness'

Romanians are definitely US d***riders lol, at least most of them, but they have their reasons.

The Romanian Treasure (Romanian: Tezaurul României) is a collection of valuable objects and the gold reserves (~120 tonnes) of the Romanian government sent to Russia for safekeeping during World War I. After the Romanian Army entered Bessarabia, at the time part of the Russian Empire, in early 1918, the new Soviet government that managed to rule Russia severed all diplomatic relations and confiscated the Romanian Treasure. As of today, only part of the objects and none of the gold reserves have been returned.

After dissolution + Ceasescu's fall, the americans started businesses with romanians, and since then they influenced somehow this country. The general idea of the regular romanian (which by that they were mostly farmers living the 'simple' life) thought Americans came here to 'gift' us rockets and schools.

We have this song called Americandrim.

Puya is singing here about the loss of the national entity and the imitation of foreign cultures, plus the beginning of detesting its own origins. This song has a dark face, 'we' used to see America as the country of all possibilities, and when we made a***ogy with the little Romania, many began to hate that country where they were born, especially after the crisis of 2008 (the crisis which in Romania extended until 2012-13), when a lot of Romanians went across the borders of the country to work and bring money into the country for they family.

Just by listening the beginning of the first verse after the chorus you will get how much the americans influenced in day-by-day romanian life lol.

    Americandrim

    "McDonald's, Michael, Notorious B.I.G
George Bush, Coca Cola și MTV
    Hollywood, Mike Tyson, Iraq
    11 septembrie, ce dezastru, păcat
    FBI, CIA, Hamburger, Hot Dog
    Bill Gates, Windows, Microsoft"

Bruh you not lying about that first verse LMFAO

But yeah American soft power really is insane and it does have material effects on how countries align politically and model themselves. Like, all things being equal, the way American culture is so pervasive globally will tilt things in favor of the US, other countries can't even come close to having that same soft power.
