Video’s so fkn sad. Apparently the Chechen & Russian talking to one another were friends in the USSR. Then they became enemies during the Chechen war.

The Chechen tries pleading with his former Russian friend to stop his troops, because he knew he’d have to kill him & them. When the dust settled, the Chechens had killed him & the majority of his troops.

“I wish that you survive this” to his own enemy. F***, those were real ass men.

It depends what your definition of imperialism is, some people have more specific definitions, while I see it, or something extremely similar, as an inevitable development of the rise of complex states, mediated by technology and, to a much lesser extent, ideology - Uruk’s hegemony in the early days Sumerian history is fundamentally similar to any of the world-spanning empires of recent centuries. In fact, I think the roots of our current system ultimately lie Sumeria (or at least, of the mix of systems that created it, the most foundational is Sumeria, with others being synthesized and absorbed into, the most important of the secondary systems being Indo-European, but again I view the Persians and Greeks as buying into a pre-existing system, and from there Rome, and from there Europe, and from there the world), and which has, over the millennia, through force or choice assimilated/replaced all other state systems - but everything we see today originates with those city-states in southern Iraq - there are a few holdouts still, but for the most part they are either hunter-gatherers or will buy into the system upon attaining power. Of course, Mesoamerican, Andean, Chinese, Indian, etc statecraft featured imperialism, even if they ended up being absorbed into the world-system - that’s why I view hunting and gathering as the antidote to imperialism, and even there the reason is technology, or lack thereof. F***, I forgot about the complex stratified societies in the pre-colonization Pacific Northwest and in Jomon Japan. Hunting and gathering is allowed - just not if it’s based on fish!

    I OWN A TRUCK

My lease expires in a few months and I don’t know wtf I’m gonna do. I was planning to go electric but doesn’t seem like that’s going to be a possibility with current supply.

Regulate the o&g sector so that they stop seeing any slight aberration in supply as an excuse to price gouge when we have more than enough already bought and ready and they’ve just been operating off of artificial scarcity for a decade, but that won’t happen bc half the country is grasping for anything to blame on Biden and the other half of the country is trying to convince themselves that it’s a good thing we elected a geriatric absolutely allergic to anything besides the status quo of neoliberalism at this of all times in history
