Preceded by the classic NATO play of countries near Russia autonomously deciding to join

What games exactly maybe thats what i am missing

They stopping trade with russia on oil and I have to pay $80 for my tank of gas

Nah joking a bit aside, Biden is pretty much doing what he can do without pushing us to direct war.

I'm just cautious of America and Nato taking advantage of Ukraine to push more influence on to the Eastern world in the same ol' cold war games that was supposed to stop when USSR fell of.

No one is wrong to point out what is happening on all fronts of this war whether you are care about the Nazi groups in Ukrain or not. You are also not wrong to keep the focus on Russia taking the first reaction to this sexual war power tension that has been building up for over a decade.

Putin has every right to put up a flex against the West the same America has done so despite both of our countries citizens vocally saying to stop the bullshit. Nato and Ukraine aren't wrong to fight back and knock Russia down a peg or two.

Nato should have disbanded after the USSR fell.

Now they create enemies by existing

Ah yes the classic US play of Russia autonomously deciding to invade its neighbor

The classic US play of not actually giving a s*** about the countries in which there's a warzone so they can sell a s*** ton of arms, push influence, and make a killing (Double entendre don't ask me how)

Is this invasion not the exact sort of thing NATO should still be around for?

Neither Russia nor Ukraine have any agency. They are just pieces on NATO’s chessboard.

While we’re talking about this, look up who the Azov Battalion’s uncles are.

I mean yea f*** the US military industrial complex, what they’ve done in the ME, generally their modern day imperialism. I just don’t see this situation as a “US bad” thing

The (obviously US backed) existence of NATO being responsible for this is a reach, since no one forced anyone to be in NATO. Could they have been more peaceful in the early 90s and disbanded NATO? Sure. But it’s a bit of a chicken and egg situation

Nearly 30+ years after USSR fell? Yeah I guess they were right eventually lol

I like this response. Thanks for being reasonable
I just think some overestimate the importance of eastern europe to the west, to the US especially
This all started when Ukraine made the choice to move west. No one forced them to they made that choice as a sovereign nation and that choice Russia is violating
I dont see how anyone can put the west at fault in this one unless you have a bias from the start

Well we can go back to Russia meddling in Georgias civil war in the very early 90s as a reasonable justification for its existence

Again, it’s a bit of a chicken and egg thing if Russia turned out this way because of NATO or if NATO evolved this way because of Russia, but seeing how war mongering Russia is today, I myself am somewhat glad NATO didn’t disband

It’s been so almost the entire time. One of my favorite things though is when they post the “Nostradamuses” who predicted NATO pressuring Russia to invade Ukraine but don’t realize that the prediction ends with Russia’s total collapse.

idk who you’re specifically referencing so maybe that’s the case but afaik most people that’ve been derided as “pro-Russia” have acknowledged this as being the case

Putin literally wanted to join nato in the early 2000’s but was rejected
    Yeltsin was rejected in 1994
    Stalin was rejected in 1954

Being guaranteed security on the European stage would’ve reduced and even removed any need to expand geopolitical spheres in the region in a military fashion

Yeltsin and Stalin aside, do you really think Putin would’ve just given up on all his empire expansion dreams by joining NATO?

Considering the application was made in 2002 or so, those dreams were only realized after his rejection from NATO
