Rather 3 million refugees than 3 million people stuck there tbh
At least for once all European countries seem willing to help (for the wrong reasons), but it's very hard to leave everything behind you. Mentally can have its toll
The number is huge too for such a short time
Worth noting Austria and Sweden are in the EU
If the only real price is ability to join NATO, and host bases, then Russia has been embarassed and only accomplished about 25% of what it hoped to do, at the cost of its economy

What else would Russia have wanted?
@Smoofer It's a normal law degree and I chose international law as a specialization. It's not about academic education per se, but about ignorance. You as a Syrian should recognize Western hypocrisy in how this war was received, how refugees were dealt with and see parallels between Azov support and Al-Nusra support, but I guess that's too much for your corny diaspora ass
What else would Russia have wanted?
They'd have wanted no ukrianian military, or one severely disempowered
No NATO(they get this), nor EU membership.
No foreign bases (they get this)
At the high end they would have wanted a Ukrainian government as a puppet of Russia
They've accomplished very little

Demilitarization never appeard to mean no military at all, at least that was never made explicit as these demands now

This was always just pure speculation tho lol, their demands never even were for Zelensky to step down in any of the negotiations
These are a bunch of assumptions
But anyway peace talks are actually making progress now it seems so that's good either way
this guys threads are bangers

Yeah, it's a logistical triumph. The people encouraging civilians to stay and fight are going to regret that.

screamed at that part

No man, this was an EPIC FAIL for Russia because the west posted memes so they ACTUALLY WON.
If Russia accomplishes their core security goals in two or three weeks and withdraws that's definitely far short of this being Afghanistan or Vietnam. That's a really good scenario for everyone compared to the alternative. Zelensky might actually be assassinated though. You can almost guarantee the next leader to come to power there will take a harsher stance and possibly provoke the same response.

i don't think they'll accomplish their goals, at least not anytime soon.
independant military a***ysts and not only the ukrainian propaganda machine noted that the russian army suffered massive losses and have huge difficulties to make any notable progress at this point
