this s*** is crazy
Imo, this war will either end in Ukraine splitting in half, with a demilitarized western Ukraine living under a pro-Russian government w/ a Russian controlled eastern Ukraine or a "denazified" and "demilitarized" Ukrainian country under Russian control.
My bet is on the latter and there will be mass expulsion of any Ukrainians who don't want to live under these conditions to prevent any type of hostility or insurgency.

I think the first is way more likely
Basically confirmation that some of the dead in Bucha were reprisals for being "collaborators" given the timeline of events

The same article notes that the Times were present in Bucha post liberation and only noted 6 bodies in the streets. The mayor recorded a video post liberation and didn't mention a massacre. Between this and the Grayzone article it is hard to say Bucha is as cut and dry as mainstream western media is reporting it.

well, they'll have to take Kyiv for that. and the longer the conflict goes on, the harder it'll be to achieve that as weapons from the west keep coming.
taking Kyiv now is much harder that it was 3 weeks ago, and Russia failed back then.
so i don't see Russia winning the western part of Ukraine, at least conventionally. they can always use tactical nukes but i hope Russia isn't willing to go that way
think they'll settle for the donbass region, and maybe the whole southern coast. even if taking Odessa will also be extremely difficult

This was basically already happening in reverse with Ukranian special forces training with the CIA running special ops in the Donbas during a civil war that killed 14,000. This was a fractured warzone already being "de-Russified" while ethnic Russians wanted to secede.
I think what remains of Ukraine after the Donbas is taken back will just be a defanged version of what existed prior with a more brutal regime coming to power post Zelensky.
That's crayz tho
Libs fr like Putin is so bad, nobody else ever did anything wrong
I wish I had Hasan's reach to dunk on Russian libs. keep in mind that that's the most Russians have going for them as far as political life goes

while I do acknowledge that Bucha is still yet to be properly investigated (whatever that means), I am worried this event will allow Russia to further muddy the waters and find justifications for continuing the war. basically more escalation and worse and worse outcomes for everyone involved

I don't get that read at all. Their justification was already laid out prior and hasn't changed. This massacre is being leveraged by Ukraine to get western support. They want NATO intervention, fighter jets, etc. Russia's response was just saying to open an investigation. There's not even a strong rhetorical spin besides denial let alone any tangible gain.
we need an independant investigation about what happened there because i'm sure as hell neither trusting russian nor ukrainian sources

in that case we're in for more atrocities because one side wants the war to end by any means necessary and the other doesn't want to end it nor cares for repercussions
aint bringing no children into this f***ed up world anytime soon

no such thing as 'independent' anything at this point

Not sure we can trust an independent investigation either atp. Theres ulterior motives from just about every angle
What does this video tell us?
It tells us that our common sense opinions, that young men who carry weapons and are combat ready despite not being part of an army prior to war are most likely to hold extremist reactionary views, regardless of national cause
The entire region including Russia has a neo nazi problem. Its easier for the kremlin to focus on the Ukrainian ones because it helps delegitimisr when the reality is the entire post soviet world has strong reactionary elements
You don't get zelensky preaching the denazificiation of dnr and lnr
