I know that Jewish people are really split on the idea. Especially the orthodox are against the whole idea of a Jewish state, for the reasons you named.

But that doesn't mean you can't support the idea of a place for them. You know it was the discrimination in Europe that even gave them the idea, and Herzl had a lot support from Jewish people too. Of course peaceful integration in existing societies is the better option. But if there's one thing we know, is that throughout history they been discriminated on. And that won't stop for sure

I get what you're saying but in this case you can't really support "a place for them" without simultaneously saying "other people shouldn't have that place". Western intervention in the region is also largely what caused displacement of jewish people in the middle east to begin with - it's not like jews didn't exist in palestine, or in, you know, like THE ENTIRETY of the middle east. I'm not saying jewish people didn't have modern historical issues in the ME, but it was all made far worse and overall exacerbated to its breaking point by the tendrils of western intervention and influence.In fact teh very reason there will likely not be a resolution to much of how jews are now viewed in much of the ME is thanks to the west. If westerners just allowed that "place for them" to be like, neighborhoods in their own countries of origin, this really wouldn't be so much of an issue to begin with.

while i'd say it's likely the situation ends with both sides claiming victory simultaneously (Russia claims Donbass, holds Crimea, says they were victorious in securing the territory, Ukraine claims they won because they ultimately repelled Russia from the capital or something), I do think it's legitimate worry to have that Ukraine (or other countries through Ukraine by proxy) try to extend the course of conflict due to either geopolitics or money
