the russians have admitted to deportations of civs, i can find it lol
there are many more than 200,000 kids in the areas russia has taken, it's plausible

The problem lies in the language, tbh. "Taken" implies forcibly w/o will. The truth most likely lies in the middle. When in reality many women w/ children actually decided to flee to Russia, especially those in the Donetsk and Luhansk regions. Just like many women and children decided to flee to Western Ukraine/Poland/Romania during the war instead of to Russia. There have also been reports of Russians telling people they have to leave their homes because the warzone was too dangerous when the individuals don't want to leave their home and just stay put.
Regardless...the tweet provides no context and is clearly meant to imply nefarious actions on part of the Russians kidnapping 200,000 kids.

If you're a ukrianian in an area of Ukraine that the Russians hadn't already taken, that had seen some conflict since 2014, and only fled during the outbreak of this war, why on earth would you run to the country attacking you?

Because most people want peace and don't care whether peace has a Ukrainian flag or Russian flag. If bombs aren't falling in Russia, and there's food,water, and an opportunity to survive...evacuating to Russia is an option.
