Unless you claim that the post war imposition of communist, USSR aligned governments in Eastern Europe was also an act of self defense ljke that, the USSR was still a great power with ambitions.

We are looking as a simple material inability for the workers that uphold capitalism to even live within basic means within the US. People cannot rent homes, attend schools, lease cars, and even buy food to get by, let alone establish a base of ownership. Wealth inequality is at an ever-increasing peak, and labor is only continuing to be exported for cheaper overseas

I absolutely have but I'm still curious as to the extent that the Soviets wouldn't have wanted to go to war with the nazis anyway even in some hypothetical the nazis didn't want to do this

That doesn't mean Capitalism is in decline lol. It means the middle class is. Which is true. It's the biggest threat to American stability, and therefore the world. We will need to implement further redistributive policies in the next few decades or risk civil unrest/war/balkanization.

The Soviets partaking in an expansionist war to spread communism through Eastern Europe on their own accord was the exact thing Stalin would not have done
If anything that would have been a Trotskyist decision. Stalin chose not to support the Greek and Italian communists after WW2 specifically because he didn’t want to create tension with the west, and that was already with all of Eastern Europe in his hands

I already Hold a healthy amount of criticism for both the USSR and communist Afghanistan and how they went about the afghan war, but it neither disqualified them from my support, nor does it make them primarily responsible for the condition my homeland is in
