Hope their ELLE cover/article gets her visiting the graves of children killed by Zelensky and providing mental health resources to their families

If we're lucky the author will go into how war alters the lives of forgotten Donbas fashion designers (plus some great photographs)

Yeah that's bad but you can blame the Russian dictatorship (not the Russian people) fot plenty of suffering in donbass too

Unless you believe donbass separatism is totally organic and unexploited in which case I've got my date with tinashe in half an hour

I like the part you focused on

yes I'm miserable for not finding the war-time fashion industry interesting

Something about ukrainian people not wanting to be overrun by an oppressive fascist dictatorship really causes their brains to turn to mush

i think we can all hopefully agree that trying to commodify and force social media influencer level of celebrity out of foreign war figures is weird as hell
war propaganda is one thing, i get it, it's important to domestic morale and strategy, especially in terms of countering foreign opposition
however this isn't even aimed at domestic audiences, it's all aimed at people abroad? There is no reason that US audiences should be served propaganda meant to energize the morale of a domestic ukranian population. it serves no real purpose to serve this to a US audience besides to curry favor toward what should otherwise be disparate parties.
everyone and their mother in the US is already bombarded regularly with reasons Russia is bad at this point. literally voguing up a foreign leader is not only weird but makes it far harder to take any concerns seriously. is the conflict alone not enough to garner sympathy that we need puff pieces on leaders? are we simply feeding into a machine of recursive propaganda? is this now about Zelensky himself instead of Ukraine as a whole?
the US govt obviously has their mind made up already (in advance) about what their stance on Ukraine is and clearly so does half the rest of the population. let's drop the justification of playing aesthetic games and just admit this is a useless PR stunt which isn't turning any heads not already turned

Honestly just bomb the shut out of Russian puppet officials. Its your land they've got no right to govern you so cause some chaos

most sane people just want to live their lives and not engage in a lifelong resistance struggle against a giant superpower next door , it sucks to say but once all the hoorah men are dead the people left will just want to rebuild and move on not rly caring who is in charge. at least historically that’s what happens
