I don't object to Israel existing but I object to the aggressive West bank settlements and oppression of Palestinians.

    2 state is the way

2 state is definitely not the way when there are well established international biases that will lead to complacency with the Zionist agenda

If anything, a unitary secular state is the answer. And while it is much harder to achieve than a 2 state solution, it actually mitigates problems instead of further entrenching them

It’s sad that there are way worse countries and Israel only gets boycotted because it’s Jewish.

It sounds achievable even if much more difficult than a 2 state.

Issue is at this rate, and with the normalisation of relations, it feels as if there's going to be a unitary state called Israel, and I don't say that in any celebratory way.

Wouldn’t be unitary if it’s post genocidal

  • My attitude towards Israel aiding Ukraine isn't too dissimilar from how someone in the Soviet Union would feel about America carrying out lend lease

Thanks but you still behave like an a******

It's also pretty stark for Israel to choose a side here, it has substantial relations with both Ukraine and Russia due both countries having sizeable Jewish populations and diaspora. I wonder what could have led to them joining the sanctions regime

From my absolutely limited knowledge, it seems the most effective yet most achievable solution is 2 state, but with free movement between both states. Kinda like the good Friday peace agreement

you know that a lot of jewish people don't support israel existing either literally due to their own internally contentious religious debates right?
the entire foundation of israel as a modern jewish state doesn't make any sense. there were jews living in the region fine before israel existed. the ottomans had no problem selling jews land there - something which is now cited retroactively as proof of israeli land claims even though it's counter-historical.
In the 1500s-1600s the Ottomans literally encouraged Jews prosecuted in Europe to come settle in the region. One of the entire reasons the current issue of "zionist israel" exists is literally the fault of europeans. The earliest issues stemming from the pre-israel region happened because they couldn't stop massacring jews in eastern europe which caused inflated immigration to the area and flamed local tensions as land kept getting split and jews were caught in the middle of a power struggle in the burgeoning ottoman empire (contrary to popular belief it was not ethnically inflamed).
European mandates & empires are virtually the sole reason that not only modern zionism exists but also that jewish arab regional tensions are as bad as they are. Early regional palestinians literally helped build jewish villages

Youre completely correct but I also point out none of that invalidates what I've said. At this point I don't see any going back. Youre absolutely correct it is European persecution that got us here

As it stands, the bulk of Israelis want their state to continue existing however, and I don't see this changing, so what I say is based off practicality

The point I'm making is it doesn't make sense for an Israeli state to exist even due to its own fundamental terms. I've said before fully abolishing a state is unrealistic and not likely to happen especially given the existent population, but foreign governments & commentators must stop acting like israel is a jewish state and also when proposing a "two state solution" stop defaulting in a manner as if this just means some arbitrary division of land and then that's it. A two state solution would end up with more tensions and issues than Kosovo-Serbia or Armenia-Azerbaijan - it's just not an immediately viable solution. The only way a two state solution is going to work at all is if foreign governments basically collectively admit it's never going to work so long as Israeli Nationalists are in power (which is not going to happen since virtually all states don't really care that much regardless of bloc alignment).

Israel isn’t the worst country in the world yet it’s the only one getting boycotted, why.
I’m critical of Israel too, both sides are too extreme on this. They should definitely stop expanding, using white phosphorus and sterilizing migrants, but why doesn’t the BDS movement target Russia or China?

Because the west actively sends a ridiculous amount of money and support to Israel?

So what? We send money to Saudi Arabia too. Where’s the boycott?

You think we shouldn’t boycott Israel because we don’t boycott Saudi Arabia? Basically every Muslim in the world despises the saudis except for weird wahhabi extremists

Governments care more about pragmatic than actually upstanding principles so it won’t matter

Saudi definitely gets a lot of flack too. You can find lots of critical articles, political speeches/debates, etc. on Saudi anywhere from newspapers to congressional hearings. The difference is that Saudi really only trades in terms of weapons & oil, none of which US citizens especially have a say in. By comparison, Israel has a very wide market sector which actively trades a ton with the US in multiple markets, including food, tech, luxuries, etc. Saudi does huge tech sector investments too, but those almost always receive scrutiny? There was a big investment into some gaming companies by them recently and there were definitely news articles condemning them. The thing is, what is the average person supposed to boycott from Saudi Arabia? Not going to the gas station?
However, I will say I partially agree with you that yeah a lot of rhetoric about "zionists" is just partially disguised against jews in general. Many people depending on ethnic background definitely have ethnic tensions with jews in general - however I don't think these are the same people promoting BDS, as this is honestly a college campus liberal thing at this point. But yeah if you want to talk like, i don't know, why so many countries in Africa hate israel, you're partially right it's not really about the country intrinsically.

How does this in any way help prevent the energy crisis lol? This is just symbolic nonsense. Russia will just tell them to f*** off and sell even more to India and China
