I’m fasting sorry my brain worded a delicate situation poorly . Didn’t mean to be offensive . I meant the idea of in the media this will be viewed as a targeted attack of civilians at a concert venue with the purpose of terror . Comparing two vastly different situations was wrong especially when I know less of why ISis is against Russia . I deleted it

It's more based on their political stance. And since part of it is being anti-USA or anti-Western in general (not for bad reasons imo), they're automatically always siding with countries like Russia, cause in this case the West supports Ukraine

Which is crazy if you think about it. But that's how their brains work. They can see the wrong in what Israel is doing, but that might sadly be only cause they have American support

I'm afraid they'd support Israel committing a genocide if the USA supported the Palestinians

This is an easy way to not engage with someone's arguments

how do you acknowledge that our anti-US stances are fair and based on reason then in the same sentence think that we uncritically apply that stance as a dogma

it's actually unreal how f***ed ukraine is. they won't recover from this for the next 50-80 years. even in a fairy tale scenario where the EU pulls them in, they will never prioritize them. ukraine is just gonna be left with rubble.

ironically the only party that would actually invest into rebuilding the country is russia

which part? how f***ed ukraine is? just look at the demographic crisis the country is already facing. this is not something they'll be able to overcome in 10 years. almost a thrid of the population is gone. the people that remain, especially men, will be scarred for life by this conflict. in 2022 there were 86 men for every 100 women in Ukraine, in 2023 there were 110 men for every 100 women. how's that gonna look by the end of this war? do you think people will return to a destroyed ukraine after getting a taste of the comfort & safety of western europe? lol

if we're talking about russias interest in rebuilding the country - look at crimea and what happened to that place post 2014 from an objective perspective. economically speaking it has been thriving, mainly because russia completely revamped the infrastructure and rebuilt it as a tourist attraction. it's unrecognizable to pre-2014 crimea. if you want something more recent, then look at mariupol which, yes is still largely in ruins, but is rapidly being rebuild.

ukraine would always be a liability for the EU & the union has been showing cracks over the past decade. do you seriously expect them to invest the same energy & capital russia would? a country they didn't even want to have in their union in the first place? lmao

Where do you base this on?

Ukraine’s role in the practical agenda of the EU/NATO is to be a geopolitical bulwark against Russia

Ukraine’s role in the Russian sphere is to be an incorporated satellite in the larger Russian economy.

The former means military investment and a lack of social/civilian investment to avoid the risks attached to it, the latter is both
