Being patriotic is so inducted in these countries that even children are willing to grab weapons in order to defend their “beloved” country

Trust me go down to the Deep South and you’ll see the same thing

Europe depends on Russia for energy, sanctions on energy from Russia would negatively effect Europe and global economy. I think Putin is betting on the fact that the sanctions won’t be that severe

oh yeah all of Europe will feel this

The goal of economic sanctions, other than to deprive the Russian government of resources, is to make an unhappy populace. For the most part Putin doesn’t care cause he’s a dictator, but all indications point to Russians as a whole being lukewarm towards war. Prolonged war with poor economic health is more likely to create civil strife within the country. Letting Ukraine get ran over would only make Putin, and maybe some Russian citizens more bloodthirsty. Sucks for Russian citizens but it is what it is when one mad man can cause all of it.

If China put sanctions on the US, do you think the US populace would rather direct their anger towards the Chinese or want the US to submit to the conditions needed to lift the sanction ?

In their case… yes. They’ve been installed there for more than 500 years and that’s what their country is based on. In the US that doesn’t make sense

As opposed to letting them operate in the global economy freely? Other than that the solution is to take up direct arms against them

he'll condemn and shame russia for doing this, prayers and thoughts to ukraine, some corny message about staying strong in these times, announce sanctions and call it

do you think he's going to declare war or say we're fighting for the ukraine?
