a war that, for us, is ENTIRELY perceived thru social media and digital news reports, reports we can hardly trust for the most part. And the crazy part is if this escalates further there's a good chance that what the US does will have a major effect on how s*** plays out.
And what the US does is decided in part by how the US public perceives this virtual war...

are u slow?
im not saying its just a media saga. obviously its very real and real ppl are dying and thats serious.
but to the average American they don't know anybody there, they have no firsthand experiences, the entire conflict is understood thru media and reporting. And that whole network of info has changed drastically since the last time a conflict like this happened. It will be very interesting to see how misinformation, propaganda, etc is handled. Especially considering the US media is in a sort of post-truth state.
Yes, the real s*** happening on the ground in Ukraine is more important, im not saying we should ignore that to focus more on US media. But its not like we can't pay attention to both things at once, no?
