CocoBandoI mean for the eastern members of NATO it's about being under the sphere of influence of the West or returning to being under the rule of Russia eventually. If we're going to try and understand Putin's point of view you also have to understand the view of the leaders of those countries:be militarily isolated against a powerful neighbor or join a joint coalition.
Also Russia wanted Ukraine regardless of what NATO was doing so it's a bit disingenuous to blame this invasion on some sort of Western expansions influence I think
