I said this multiple times already, but Ukraine can't join NATO. They want to, but they can't and won't be able to in the near future. They were in a 'frozen' conflict inside their borders before this invasion. Joining NATO was not an option since it has requirements. Putin knows this too

Putin wants regime change. Not only cause Ukraine wants to join NATO or the EU. He doesnt even want them to be neutral. He mostly wants to install a puppet government that is pro-Russia and not neutral at all. If he really wanted them to be neutral he could accept talks in another city than Minsk, but he isn't
