We just got our own independent state a little over 100 yrs ago, only to get dismantled by Stalin like under 2 decades in. There are ppl alive right now who are older than Latvia.

point being, for some countries, radical independence and sovereignty isn't really even feasible. If the closest thing we can get to that is through alliances w NATO and the US then f*** it man we r gonna take it.
