Nobody “let” anything happen, China’s always been the strongest pinnacle of world strength historically. This includes the Khans (Genghis was Mongolian, however much of their administrative rule was over China). And historically, the Khans are considered as rulers of China.

While Europe & the Middle East/South Asia have been in a tug of war where everyone switches sides of “we’re the best!” every thousand years, China has been the only constant.

Why is everyone speaking English any better?

Realistically it wouldnt come to that. I think we would just be very dependent on China (like we already are) on a lot of manufacturing and things would be increasingly more expensive

As far as i am aware the only thing stopping China from overcharging tf out of us (america) is our very very scarce ability to produce certain materials ourselves. I think we have been on the "freemium" tier of China's exports and once they become the no1 super power that teaser rate will be sky-high
