Mass protests, low combat effectiveness from a usually ruthless Russian military, large amounts of surrendering troops, massive economic sanctions tanking Russian markets, RT walkoffs, even oligarchical indifference

But in all seriousness i hope it rly is just a negotiation tactic, which isn't necessarily self-evident since "liberation" of the Crimea has been official policy of Ukraine

Firstly, Poland, Sweden and the Czech Republic refused to play against the Russian team. The Russian National Football team released a whole ass statement about FIFA treating them unfairly and their victimhood and couldn’t even devote a single line to denouncing or EVEN mentioning that their country is invading Ukraine as if this decision was totally randomly and without context. And if they’re scared to say anything against Russia that’s fine but not even a neutral wish for peace. F*** them.

The protests are literally taking a neutral stance for peace and look what’s happening to those people

In addition to what americana said, going from denying you're gonna invade to starting the invasion in one day with one or two speeches of propaganda campaign isn't enough to get your population on board with an invasion that will wreck your economy.
