i had a good upbringing but even then my moms rage outbursts and physicality kind of manifested in some conflict aversion

both relationships ive been in were extremely intense, im happy to say i own my own toxicity- even tho especially in the last one i dont think i was the narc at all, altho i would withdraw emotionally when i felt that was happening to me, which kind of precipitated the fall

as a codependent, you're not the bad guy in most cases, although you can act like one at times, and especially after you break up

but the main thing is, you both share a toxic underlying deficiency that leads you two to be vulnerable and seek out eachother...

and especially once you're in that relationship and you've gone through almost all the phases, your mind as the codependent has been taken over... like no joke... your "intellectual immune system" has literally been compromised by the narcissist. And your identity has been fully immersed and replaced with theirs and their voice has now become your introject (inner voice / inner critic)

one thing to keep in mind if you want to genuinely heal and move on from this and not repeat the cycle is to realize the above:

you are not thinking your own thoughts, you are not yourself after a narcissist break-up

you've been brainwashed and entrained to think a certain way and your own original thoughts are now repressed to the back of your mind and silenced... and it's your job to completely shut off the stronger hateful and critical narcissistic voice in your mind and to wake up the very silent/unsure voice in yourself which is actually you
