I said it before I’ll say it again, 98% of these new rappers are boring and won’t have the staying power of a Drake, Kanye, etc.

    It’s blatantly obvious

Who cares. It’s not gonna change the genre and the f***ed up state it’s in. Don’t wish that on him cause if you were in that situation, you wouldn’t want that to be wished upon you

ill tell u why i care. ppl follow the leader. he’s having extreme success making the most uncreative music. what does that tell the rest of atlanta. if u make monotone boring music u will make it too.

    he needs to go

Who’s really been innovative since the OG crop has blown up anyway?

True but eventually they fizzle out you know. Just let him support his family even though your prayers won’t work.

The reality of the situation is. We shouldnt pray that Lil Baby has a downfall.

We should pray that more various types of artist have a uprise.

Don’t know if you consider him as part of that crop but Carti’s been trying to push boundaries with every project he’s dropped

Love or hate WLR, no one can deny he wasn’t trying something new artistically with that album

It’s crazy cause there’s so many rappers people have said that about and they’re still here lol. Gucci, Migos, Sosa, Durk etc

These type of posts be looking dusty

Mfs even thought Future wasn’t go be around long. Stop sounding like dust heads and just wait for these folks careers to play out before writing them off.

bc those guys were Passionate about the craft

way too many rappers nowadays are open about the fact that they only rap bc its a way to get a check. I think Yung Miami just tweeted out recently that she doesn't even care about rap. watch a couple new guys interviews and see how many of them say "growing up I never even Thought about making music". obviously you can gain new goals over time but compared to someone like Ye who was writing raps & making beats as early as 12 years old, there's just a general lack of investment in the music itself from many rappers.

Gucci is not in the same boat as any of those guys.

Sosa been out of the picture which seems like his own doing. Migos is fading before our eyes.

Durk got a couple years left if he keeps it going. But none of them have it in them to be Drake/Kanye level. It’s just obvious.

Let’s be real all those guys actually brought something new and unique to the table. Migos at their peak were still trying new things, and they were the closest to where Baby is commercially.

Exactly. And that’s why none of them will have the staying power. Because they don’t have the passion for the craft like that, and it leads to boring, monotonous, formulaic music.

And they’re easily replaced by the next guy who has a quick hit. It’s a cycle. Not mad at it, it’s just how it goes.

    Hey guys rappers have lifespan.

Imagine when niggas realized Nelly wasn’t going platinum anymore. Or Luda and TI stop making hits.

This happens literally every 5 years lol.

Yes, that is what I’m saying. Thank you for pointing it out.

the difference is that regardless of what ppl said about him, Future's primary ambition was to be successful in rap and he aimed high from the minute he started doing music. Future has gone to the studio every single day for 12+ years and recorded something because he cares about keeping his skills sharp. majority of these new guys would rather pop off a little bit and do other things. so they care more about being famous than being a musician
