Drake supposedly wanted to retire from rap at 35. He's 33 now. I wonder if his addiction to being number 1 will make him go back on his word tbh
AI rappers are gonna become a thing
Songs will be made by computers and there will no longer be bad music. Every song is gonna have perfect writing, beats, melodies, and mixing.
At some point you will have the option to customize your own songs and albums. You choose the vibe you want.
Music as we know it is like horses before there was cars and planes, they're the stepping stone to a bigger concept that is currently unimaginable with our current technology
not in the 2020s but i do see this happening

This is kinda already happening, I remember I saw a spotify ad for a song from that popular cgi instagram model (forgot her name) didn't bother to click it but it looks like its what the music industry is trying to push for the future.

Same prediction all the time AI is never gonna replace human music tf
bobby shmurda takes over the game
Uzi Carti Travis NBA running things going into early 2020s, the next generation is coming we just haven’t seen them yet very little indicates what’s next there, gonna be retro 2000s craze somewhere in there also
I'm gonna pull a Jayson Greene here and say that Kendrick is going to drop a brick and it's going to HURT.
I'm gonna pull a Jayson Greene here and say that Kendrick is going to drop a brick and it's going to HURT.
Why u say that?
In my unbiased opinion:
Drake will be on top until about 2023
Kendrick will lose relevancy around 2025 due to not dropping enough music, he will still be regarded as a legend though.
Cole will lose musical relevancy around 2021, but will remain an icon in music and most likely start some sort of podcast or interview YouTube / Video channel.
SoundCloud/memehead rappers (already irrelevant pretty much) will be completely forgotten about.
Twitter specifically and other older social media platforms lose impact on bandwagon opinions (Twitter is actually dying and losing members every month), but new era social media platforms like TikTok will eventually be used to create decent music of all genres and Generation Z artists will use it to promote their music.
As the whole 2010s decade ages, the music will age very poorly except for the staple albums that defined the era.
NBA Youngboy becomes a top 5 superstar, along with Travis, and maybe Post Malone (even though he's not really a rapper).
Street rap (as it's already getting bigger again) will add more styles to it and become even bigger until about 2022 when it becomes oversaturated.
A new type of rap where the artists are more humble and don't partake in braggadocios type lyrics or turn up s*** will become the front runner due to relatable music. The style will become a complete turn around of what we have right now.
Lots more diversity in the mainstream becomes popular again as well.
tbh a lot of what music will sound like in the 2020s will come down to who wins the 2020 election
Baby Keem will run the game
Pop and R&B are gonna make a huge resurgence 2020-2022
Pop? How can pop have a resurgence?
Hopefully a resurgence of Jazz and Funk.
Singers decide to ditch the ‘folk’ voice. Develop their own sound. Weeknd will drop his best album after this upcoming one.
Isaiah Rashad drops 3 records, Kendrick enters the top 25, then 10, then 5... he’ll film a movie, directed by Ryan Coogler.
Kid Cudi retires, Kanye makes gospel.
Jay Electronica will drop an album in 2025, nearing the time when the world will presumably end lol
Marcus King and Gary Clark will tour together.
“My train has arrived”
A West Coast rapper is gonna blow and be one of the big 3-5 of the decade
Roddy
Pop? How can pop have a resurgence?
The type of music to make you go "that's a pop song" when you hear it has taken a back seat in the last few years
