Suprise O-Rod takeover itt
I want to stan but she really ripped off half her album too much
I just can't f*** with that
Now that O-Rod has made Billie a thing of the past, it’s even more important that we get a name for the O-Rod stans
Rod’s Rangers? The Rod Wave? The 6 Rod?

First time hearing this singer
Therefore I Am was the right single. That and Lost Cause with a better beat would have worked imo, but the pandemic had her waiting too long to drop.
It all depends on the next single imo, but she built a big fan base, so I expect her to sell good anyway.

The whole aesthetic of this era is bland and the tracks picked as singles were weird choices devoid of the catchiness that made her 2019 material so beloved
She'll still be a cultural presence for years to come (she still has grown men making threads about her on ktt every week) but it just exemplifies how fickle these pop-star fanbases are, they really chew you up and spit you out
Plus, the whole showing her body trope comes across as unforgivably contrived and to me she's always been blatantly problematic
She developed such an apparent 'blaccent' in 2018/9, I'm not even one for cancelling and all that I hate that movement, but her adoption of that characteristic made me so uncomfortable like f***ing be yourself
To condense it, I just don't think the music is that good or exciting or doing any innovative this time round - that's the root of the problem
While valid, it’s important to remember she’s only 19. She is still learning who she is as a person, let alone an artist
Such is the fickle world of pop tho
It's weird how much hate Billie Eilish is getting this year despite mostly minding her business and staying out of the radar. I don't get the weird comparisons to Olivia Rodrigo because besides being young and very popular singers, they're not trying to do the same thing at all.
Olivia seems like a very clear "voice of the youth" and I don't think that's Billie's direction in this new era. We actually don't know much about how this album would sound like, except for most of the singles sounding mellow and the title and cover hinting into a "fake happy" theme.
What's mostly weird to me is that most of the criticisms is not about her actual music but about her image. If she actually did something bad maybe I would get it but mostly she just seems to mind her business and has people calling her "fat" "big b***" dating an older guy and idk it's just like high school gossip surrounding her more than music talk. Just listen to the album when it drops and judge for yourself.
I predict that it won't be as good as the first album but I'm open minded to a new sound and I'm happy she's not trying to milk the same gimmick, and I'll be here for the next era too because I'm not that fickle and quick to turn away and "dump her" once she's not the #1 most popular singer anymore.
Man this is derivative af and been done better before

I kinda feel bad for artists blowing up now, the pressure is arguably more than ever and you're basically only as good as the last handful of songs you released. Billie was probably a top 5 in the mainstream in 2018 but now she's struggling to get a hold on that same set of people
The songs she's put out aren't fun to listen to at all which definitely screws her over and she also took too long to release. Same thing Ski Mask just did, his last project had over 1b streams on spotify alone back in 2018 yet he just put out a tape last week which only sold 15k first week. You can't go more than 18-24 months anymore without sacrificing a massive hold on the mainstream. Even Big Sean lost probably 70%+ of his fanbase cause of a 3 year break. I think the only people immune are artists with insane rep like Kendrick/Drake/Frank Ocean
at this rate Billie will probably drop and do like 150k fw but it'll do much much better globally in countries like the UK/France etc where artists fall from mainstream much slower than the US
She f***ed up by dropping too many singles. Even though I think this is another CLB case of an artist waiting for a good moment to drop during a pandemic.
