Im not saying you’re wrong. Henry seems to know where to find some good talent with loads of potential. He’s super valuable. MJF is replaceable. Guys like Henry/Regal who are known to be good at finding and training talent may not be. Would you rather have one “MJF” or loads more?

It’s crazy to say that MJF is replaceable cause,he literally brought back the super crude, foul mouthed, extra dirty wrestling heel to mainstream TV,the type of heel WWE really hasn’t done in that manner in a while(probably since JBL). You need those backstage guys for sure but to say MJF is replaceable at this point is kinda wild.

He’s pretty established, anyone after him will probably be seen as lesser than right now.

I agree but someone following up MJF in AEW right now would have to be noticeably better then him imo.

Ricky Starks has it and I believe would be the best choice to replace MJF.

If MJF is replaceable then so are the backstage talent lol

    Damn,I agree lol

But at the same time,Starks can prove himself but he’s not proven yet. MJF has put in the work and he’s an established heel. It’s hard to just blow him off like that cause then the next thing you know,TK and the fans blowing off Starks the same exact way.

AEW needs as many homegrown stars as they can find/make,can’t always throw acts away.

Not gonna lie,I really do think TK needs to try his best to keep MJF,cause his character is pretty successful in AEW,and it has the potential to go further. It’s obvious TK is lowballing him so he can maximize the profits he gets off MJF.

Idk,Tony has def backed himself into a corner with this situation. He knows MJF is worth it but he doesn’t wanna look like a b**** by giving into MJF demands. If we’re using this logic,I think MJF needs to stay with AEW,and if he’s smart,TK offers him a huge contract (with incentives) before this contract is up.

It might be too late tho, respect definitely plays a part in this. Mark Henry definitely shouldn’t be getting paid more then the hottest American talent out there.

The fact Max flew to LA gives me the feeling that he’s still looking for a reason to stay.

But Tony needs to give it. They might eventually make another main event heel but I don’t know if he’ll ever have one at the level MJF is right now.

He needs to ask Max what Vince would ask guys like Punk when they’re weren’t happy and had one foot out the door.

“What is it gonna take for you to stay and be happy?”.

The wheel still hasn’t produced another Stone Cold Steve Austin/The Rock.

You might not get the mileage out of that wheel that you got previously.

Tony NEEDS to keep MJF around. Sure, he might have a s*** run in WWE and end up regretting taking the money but they’ll make more money then the year before regardless. AEW lose him and there is a gaping hole in their programming.

It wouldn’t be wasting money either. Max has gotten big quarter hours and been major buying points of their PPV’s. He’s clearly worth it regardless of his tenure.

    I wouldn’t go that far.

I love Starks but he has that thing The Rock had where the higher he goes the more the people are gonna get behind him and want him to be a top babyface.

MJF’s that kind of heel where the fans go out of their way to boo him even if they love him. He could go for the next 10 years and fans would still accept him as the top heel that they pay their money to see get the s*** kicked out of him.

Not just gonna stick someone else in that spot and have it click in this situation.

nothing Nukes said was wrong lol

I see why TK paid a lot for guys like Mark Henry, considering he probably wouldn’t have left the WWE if got the same amount of money or less. Plus he scouted Jade for them so he’s valuable in that sense.

MJF is the most established young guy in the company but his value will only matter in AEW, Vince will throw money at him just to steal him from the competition. But in the end he’ll suffer from WWE creative and probably won’t get pushed heavily because of his look.

That’s why he’ll either have to take his chances with WWE or come to a middle ground with TK.

Tony lets his talent out of contract if they don’t want to be there anymore.

So it clearly isn’t a 2024 issue if MJF can leave in 2022.

  • Jun 1, 2022

Who ever said Tony wants to fire him?

The problem has never been that, it’s that MJF doesn’t feel respected or paid enough and is looking to go elsewhere if he doesn’t get that from Tony.

It’s perfectly acceptable to discuss because Tony accepts releases from his wrestlers who ask for it and Vince doesn’t.
