MJF probably had enough after seeing Kyle O'Mildley sign that 5 year contract

In January of 2016, Shinsuke Nakamura had gave his notice to NJPW and verbally agreed to come in to WWE. After Wrestle Kingdom Gedo booked Nakamura vs. Omega so Nakamura could drop the IWGP Intercontinental Championship to Omega and do the honors as is tradition.

But a week after announcing that match, NJPW suddenly cancelled the match, Nakamura relinquished the IC title in a press conference and his last match was made to be a 6 man tag that his team won.

The big speculation at the time was that WWE heard about the Omega match and told Shinsuke that they didn’t want him putting anyone over on the way out and it would effect the money they offered him and the push he would get if he did.

I wouldn’t put it past Vince and Bruce to have been in Max’s ear for the past few months and especially in the last week that Vince would be willing to offer him the keys to the bank if he left AEW with a virtually spotless W/L record and not on the back of losing clean to Wardlow.

It’s a filthy method but there’s history here. Max wouldn’t be doing all this if he didn’t think he had a cushy guaranteed seat in Stamford.

Didn’t Jeff Jarrett get a big payday all at once to job to Chyna? If I remember correctly,it was in the six figures. If Tony is forced to give MJF a six figure,maybe a million dollars to job to Wardlow

Wouldn’t that breach some kind of contractual obligation if he doesn’t? If he legit no shows

Tony’s going out of his way to not be seen as a money mark in the annals of history.

If MJF tries to hold him up I think Tony lets him walk and Max will have to try and get a big money contract from Vince without the leverage of AEW trying to outbid or outnegotiate them.

This gotta be a work, if MJF legit no shows, he’ll be throwing his career in the toilet smh.
