The name is corny as hell, but if he's trying to do submissions again he could've just gone back to the Texas cloverleaf that he did 20 years ago.

I keep seeing niggas think he stopped using the swanton when that was the first time he ever won with that sub… and then he still hit the swanton immediately after in that awkward ass post match angle

yeah for me, i have different expectations for wwe and aew. Primarily, wwe thrives within its storytelling, then the technical wrestling is secondary, and for AEW its the other way round

WWE is currently not ticking any of those two boxes for me outside the Punk/Roman promos, whereas AEW gives me alot of great wrestling matches in their PPVs

I feel you. It all goes hand in hand for me. I don’t necessarily care about the matches if I don’t care about you as a character. Like if I saw two randoms locally put on a great match, but their aesthetics look like s*** and I don’t know who you are, it’ll quickly be forgotten.

The only era where I didn’t necessarily care about character development was when I was younger watching the cruiserweight division in WCW. But they served their purpose on the show because they stood out so much from everyone else on the roster. If everyone’s doing stunts, the less it stands out
