I'm not ready to compare unsuccessful football players, body builders, fitness models, etc....participating in combat theatre to Fighters that get their head beat in, football players that get blasted by design or basketball players that sell everything under the sun from food, apparel, video games, etc...on top of having dedicated their lives to their sport.

I don't think I'll ever be ready for that tbh. This isn't sport.

They also aren't doing the business these major sports athletes are doing.

If someone said courtside tickets to a Blazers game or tickets to the biggest wrestling event of the year, I’m like 99% sure I’m going to the game lol.

I do think wrestling is a sport, but like a very niche one that’s not respected by anyone. It’s not competitive in the traditional sense obviously, but it does take a physical toll on their bodies. And some of these niggas ARE all world athletes lol.

Have you ever been to Portland for a game?

I love wrestling and have loved it for 20 years. But anything that’s predetermined and scripted as heavily as wrestling is, shouldn’t be considered a sport if we’re being honest

I wasn’t trying to say wrestling is a sport, I was trying to draw the correlation with the major sports and their revenues with how much they pay to their athletes vs UFC/WWE.

The competitive aspect is the key. Something cornhole has.

Predetermined outcomes disqualifies it from being a sport or even looked at as sport imo Just like every job they have to have skills of course but unlike actual sports their skills don't dictate the outcome. Popularity and writers do.

I'm not saying they aren't athletes. I tipped my cap to their backgrounds. An athlete can work at Wal-Mart but bagging up groceries ain't a sport.

For sure, but it got me thinking and I do think it’s a sport

Or at least an athletic competition I guess? Which is essentially sports

Fasho but that Walmart bag boy ain’t doing anything athletic at Walmart with his athleticism

Most wrestlers actually using that athleticism. I get the argument both ways tho for sure. Cuz I can’t call The Miz an athlete

My point was just because they are athletes doesn't make their job a sport bro lol

Lol they're using their athletiscism to deliver a performance. Not compete.

These guys and girls are playing characters and doing choreographed fights, it's not a sport

We can appreciate the athleticism/fitness but there's a reason why there's an straight crossover to TV/Film than pro fighting. No one says the guys/girls doing fight scenes in films/TV are sports people, they're actors who have an athletic/combat skill set. The wrestlers are actors, years of kayfabe blurred things a whole lot.

All it takes is watching an Elite vs Death Triangle match to realize it isn’t a sport lol

Being an athlete honestly doesn't even mean s***. Most the WWE locker room more athletic than a lot of people that compete in real sports(F1, Tennis, Golf, Cricket, Swimming, Volleyball, CORNHOLE, etc....). Its missing the key component of competition(legitimate), not athleticism.

Ninja Warrior more of a sport than pro wrestling.

    Idk what they're on.
