Man AEW gets a lot of slack for not having stories, and deservedly so a lot of times. But I do find it a bit nitpicky to go "not like this" when they actually tell one that makes sense.
The entire point is that MJF had months to come up with shenanigans and plans to tilt the match with Danielson in his favor, and he tried but they all failed. He couldn't incapacitate him through his gauntlet, his attempt at mindgames only fired Dragon up, and he's burned through all the allies/associates he ever had. Last night was the point where he realized that he will actually have to go at it with a guy who isn't only more capable than him to go 60 minutes, but is also pissed off and has overwhelmingly more experience than him in big matches, while MJF steps into the ring like 10 times a year.
It's all to make you believe that Danielson not only has a chance, but actually has the upper hand. Otherwise if you go in with the default "both challenger and champion are confident" attitude then you make it fairly obvious that MJF is going to win by virtue of this being his first PPV defense. You could see that at last year's Revolution, no one really though that Adam Cole was going to beat Hangman.
I do think, though, that the way they delivered this story wasn't the best, although I suspect that the primary problem there is the really long break between Full Gear and Revolution. If all this build would've been compressed over 6-8 weeks at max it would've had way more effect.
@barnett this how I will post from now on sir

Banter aside though keep the same energy about it being discussion when I write essays about true goats like Omos
like outside of booking
their production still needs work. they still miss key shots and show way too much on the camera.
like when they have ppl dive into a group of ppl, idk why u need to show them gathering together bracing for impact
fair assessment I've rolled my eyes plenty of times on missed shots and s*** like you mentioned where they show the wrestlers waiting for a wrestler to jump on them...WWE guilty too
also was I the only one who noticed the weird cuts during Hooks entrance last night? almost didn't look like it was live but they kept making these weird cuts as he was walking around the ring

Every AEW coming to God post has to end with "WWE does it too" :jordanlaff3:
If y'all don't find that sick idk wtf wrong

just baffles me cuz alot of these guys come from wwe and tv
minor tweaks but sometimes takes me out of a certain match

the chaotic camera cuts can work to their advantage sometimes for crazier matches but yeah nothing tops NJPW and NOAH
I have a love hate relationship with WWEs production. I don’t think anyone does it better than them and then I’m like I can’t stand the LEDs and etc.

That's part of the problem, because WWE has had that same issue prior to AEW. Old habits to break.

the presentation of their shows is dope (big crowds, set designs, etc.)...hate the stupid giant CGI entrance s*** though and Kevin Dunn's camera cuts almost make that s*** unwatchable
