People always bring this idea up and I guess it’s not an impossible idea but laying a reference to spark an idea always seems more likely to me than someone trying to take the artists words and put a flow to it. If you’ve written anything or read anything a friend wrote you know that reading someone else’s s*** without a reference point for rhythm and cadence is hard as hell, that’s the whole reason references exist. So the idea of Trav handing cyhi some words and asking for a flow is just bizarre to me since if you have the words you should be able to find a flow and most would assume Travis is better at flows than lyrics and even that flows/melodies are the main focus and the lyrics are just an afterthought. So why would they be building Travis Scott music around lyrics rather than naturally coming up with a flow? I just don’t see it

Also when people put this idea forward it’s supposed to be in defense of the artist, like “oh Trav wrote the words Cyhi just helped with the flow no big deal” but flow isn’t a lesser component than lyrics especially in Travis music, as a fan I’d rather find out Trav didn’t write his bullshit words than find out he’s not responsible for the musical aspects that made him notable
