Part of me is like I’m glad it isn’t as authentic because the aspect that isn’t often portrayed in the music is the harsh realities that our people have to live through and I wouldn’t wish that on no one but pat is a special case because he’s 100% of that background and the way him and the rest of 3 6ix innovated a whole GENRE f*** a subgenre is one for the books man he’s to Memphis what Gucci is to Atlanta imo
I feel like 3 6ix should get the same amount of praise that kast and wu tang gets to add on juicy and dj Paul work in the 90s and early 2000 could rival the Neptunes
Ghetty Green and Mista Don’t Play are mind blowing albums

I think what made that whole era special from 3 6,Cash Money to No Limit is that they represented their hood and ghettos in general to the fullest and people showed them real respect. Idk how many rappers can go back to their hood and get showed love but I know for a fact everyone group I listed could.
It helped a lot that they were indie too,the image and what they were promoting might not been the best but at least they truly represented that s***.
People shouldn’t sleep on Layin Tha Smack Down either. So many sick cuts in that one and Project Pat used the Intl. Players Anthem beat first on this album

My feet hurt
A lot of the flows that was blowing your mind in 2007 from Wayne was his also a heavy one of the few colovorater of Old Cash Money BG Juvi
Gucci was primarily influenced
Also he has 2 of the greatest rap albums ever
What are the two albums op

Bro how I know streets are dead and worthless is that Pat who made Gorilla Pimp is loving gushy gushy husband
It’s really interesting because he’s tbe originator of the culture that a lot of people consume now and he gave it up
F*** it,this a 3 6 underrated cuts thread,La Chat was way too raw for a female rapper at that time
Skepta stay trying to flow like Project Pat
That's crazy. I never noticed now I hear it
