not even low key. before peep passed (rip) i had a whole thread ready to go about how ecco created his sound and peep pretty much lifted it directly. Never posted it because I'm not out here trying to look like i'm accusing a dead man of biting, especially when it's not biting, just influence.

if you go back to Ecco's features on SC loosies from 2014-15 it's straight up the flows and inflection peep was using when he really popped off.

Once again I do NOT want to come across as s***ting on peep, i'm sure he showed love and styles were getting shared in the SC scene more than ever.

GTBSG really did DIRECTLY create the lane, content, and sound. peep made it more approachable by combining it with pop-punk and really leaning in on the hedonism and depression.

no, we really like it. give it a few months, you might come around. it was like that for me. I mean you might not, it's not for everybody and I get that it's mad off-putting to some people, nothing wrong with it not being your cup of tea.
