But mainstream media as a whole is being more inclusive. It's just more jarring and noticeable for the black community because we're rarely in mainstream media as is. I remember listening to a white person review Creed and even they emphasized how they couldn't even remember the last time they saw a black man and a black woman show love on-screen.

The first Disney show ever with explicitly gay characters is mostly black? The first openly gay character in a comic book movie is black? That’s more than just “inclusivity” no matter how much you and that other guy want to write it off. Pixar had a short about a gay white guy coming out tho but that’s not as big as a show. Also, that white guy sounds super clueless because Tyler perry was putting out a movie a year. Sounds like they just weren’t being spoonfed.

I didn’t read that post right but I’m generally curious which characters you’re referring to because having actually done light research, every other character you could possibly be referring to was a background character whose “queer identity” was limited seconds of affection. Which Disney characters were even close to as openly gay as the ones from this show or Eternals beforehand?
