Technology has been stagnant for awhile now

Stop focusing on minuscule upgrades in graphics, let’s get that 60FPS like y’all promised us

They botched the presentation overall, a livestream on YouTube of a capture of the footage is not gonna be clear enough to really wow people or show the difference in quality.

Them showing tlou2 and GOT is what it is. To be fair both of those games dropped the same year the ps5 dropped, in fact just a few months before the ps5 dropped

Naughty dog and sucker punch are working on something, people need to give them time, it’s not Sony’s fault that game production is just extremely long now. The length of a AAA video game production from pre-production to going gold is now close to or longer than a console lifecycle.

    Your final paragraph is incorrect

It doesn’t take an entire console life cycle to make a game

  • Sep 12, 2024

We’ve already started preproduction on next game and are changing engines

Sony ones with crazy budgets focused on hyper realism and expensive mocapped cutscenes yes

  • Sep 12, 2024

Games don’t have to take that long and that model isn’t sustainable

even cyberpunk and starfield had like 7+ years of development

Microsoft showed off a bunch of games in their 2020 showcase that still have no date

Metroid prime 4 like a decade in development, 6+ years since restarting, totk took 6 years reusing an engine.

    It’s industry wide

    Cyberpunk poor management
Bethesda too Starfield specifically aimed to be next Skyrim

Both have moments where they damn near started over due to whole company relying on their success both trash launches
    Both layoffs

    Bethesda unionized

  • Sep 12, 2024

Our next game will be out end of this life cycle / beginning of next

  • Sep 12, 2024

Games always took more than 3 years to make if same team working on other game that they have to support with dlc and more content / patches

let admit it, Sony been trash since the release of the PS4 imagine going from FREE to having to pay for online, not only that but a PS4 was hard to get in 2013-2014, it only became accessible in 2015 and up

unfortunately history repeats itself for the PS5, s*** been out for 4 years now and its just now somewhat accessible if u got money like that

now imagine an $899 PS5 PRO WITH NO DISC DRIVE
