they have to be crazy to think anyone who already has a ps5 will make the upgrade when they can use that money to either buy a steam deck for portability or start building a pc. this is insane to roll this out without software to sell it.
kekw farmer is your bio but nice try acting like a jock
Ill slap you in the f***in mouth you talk to me like that again
Digital Foundry might f*** around get hit with a drone strike once they start exposing s***
bro thought he had us with that Switch 2 comment
Switch has both Sony and Microsoft cleared . Having technological limitations is GOOD so that you are forced to create new engines, optimizations and focus on this thing called gameplay in video games and not just looking nice
That is just me though. If they dropped a switch switch pro switch pro x 2 they still have to serve the least common denomnator. So this path of creating a hiearchy where your lowest model cost 400 new with a warranty then 500 then 700 then pay for online then poorly made controllers. A PSVR2 with no games. A flimsky controller that has haptics isnt some sort of Godly deal
Microsoft Series S could be a little more powerful but is perfect for those who dont have a 4k tv yet. No one is like damn my 8k tv needs a ps5 pro that is a normal middle class human being.
There are ways to play steam games on your tv. Xbox needs to find a way to do steam integration, free online , machine learning with xbox like they have been hyping and a refresh. Maybe they see PS5 pushing for digital only and always online and try their might again but they have to make a move to stay in console race or we are doomed to have games focus more on being playable movies than fun generative experiences
A couple thing y’all probably not thinking about:
1)This is not supposed to replace or cannibalize the PS5 Slim, if it was an astronomical jump in quality it would essentially be a PS6 and leave current PS5 owners in the dust which Sony doesn’t want to do at all. They want their games looking good and running good on the base PS5 and the Pro, difference being that those who settle for the base model will have to choose between next-gen Fidelity and Performance and Pro Owners won’t.
2)This is not a console that is targeting everybody. This console is strictly for enthusiasts who want the best possible experience. If that’s not you that’s fine, get a Slim for $449. The PS4 Pro was very niche as well and only made up a fraction of PS4 sales but there was enough demand for it to be a success because enthusiasts wanted 4k. Casuals cared less and happily continued to game at 1080p and that’s fine. Now this generation of enthusiasts wants 4k60, 8k30, 1080p120, and overall wants a console experience closer to a high-mid range PC and the PS5 pro delivers exactly that. If you don’t care or don’t think it’s worth the upgrade that’s FINE, it’s not for you lol
3)This s*** is expensive for a reason. PS5 is already expensive as s*** to manufacture (really every Sony console since PS3 has been) but adding a GPU that’s nearly twice as powerful, tripling ray tracing speeds and adding advanced AI upscaling tech makes it that much more expensive to produce. Try to build a PC that can do all that for $499. I gruntee you can’t. I honestly can see why they didn’t sell it with a disc drive. That would’ve pushed the price to damn near $800 and that just wouldn’t have been marketable. $699 looks wayyyy better than $799 or even $749 etc. Is it good for the consumer? Of course not. We all would love for a nice Disc drive and stand to be thrown in and I’m sure Sony is well aware of how much better the optics would’ve been if that was the case. The fact that they didn’t do that speaks volumes about just how expensive this thing is to make.
4)It was a let down that Sony didn’t announce any new games with it but if the rumors are true (and they probably are since pretty much all the PS5 Pro rumors were true) there will likely be some kind of PlayStation showcase before the end of the month so they are probably holding out for that. If I had to guess we are probably going to see something like Ghost of Tsushima 2 which would probably look like a movie on this thing. Super long shot but maybe we get trailer 2 for GTA6. I feel like this console was built for games like that honestly.
5)It’s coming whether we like it or not. This is not Concord, this is a whole ass console that was probably planned since the beginning. There is no going back. If you don’t care or it’s not for you, cool. Ignore it and keep playing your base PS5. If you’re hype like me, cool. Start stacking your bread for that Pro and that OLED TV. Either way it’s coming.

Yeah but can you play your PC from the couch though
It isn’t suppose to be a purchase if you already got a PS5 obviously . It’s just to the point where i might as well make a PC if didn’t have a PS5

Don’t get me wrong I was super hyped for PS5 Pro and may still pick it up to play FF7Rebirth at 60 without compromises
But this is about to be an astronomical flop.

Tell that to me
Tell that to me
you are digital only its a genius move for you. Sony kind of crazy for not creating a way to convert disc library to digital

steam link is compressed like crazy on my end (fast computer gigabit internet with ethernnet) :( sad that it kinda sucks
