Lmao no one was grouping Sean with Kendrick Cole Drake

Sean was riding the B tier closer to Meek Mill and Montana at the start of the decade cause of mixtape success

Carti mostly. He’s probably the most popular one and I’ve yet to hear one song where he’s really rapping

You’re remembering wrong. Sean didn’t get separated until around TPAB

DSP was the last time he got any respect. Now Kendrick is changing diapers and Sean is getting to work

  • Jan 5, 2020

And that's exactly why Sean shouldn't be compared to the others. You can't rely on him to consistently come with some quality. He'll hit on one project and the next will be several steps down

You’re remembering wrong all those artists had really similar careers at the start of the decade and were getting tons of feats and radio play but weren’t looked at to transcend their genre

just generally it was rappers that had little to no talent blowing up off SoundCloud or memes / social media that really makes me think poorly of the genre the past few years..

For example: The XXL lists from the last 3 years (excluding 2016 cus those guys are mostly still relevant) n you prob will understand what I mean.. those are a reflection of how much trash artists we got.. almost none of them are relevant too compared to earlier in the decade we still got majority of these dudes who are either considered legends or still have strong fanbases..

just my 2 cents tho.. if u fw the new era it's cool wit me, u definitely seem like u care about the genre

Obviously not they were new rappers. You just agreed with the fact they all had similar careers and got radio play. Which is why they were grouped together.

Yes Sean is on that tier

No one was grouping Sean with Kendrick/Drake/JCole especially around 2011-2012

If anything Sean was looked at as a light Drizzy/Cole hybrid

We clearly went to different schools in 2011. ASS was a hit while Kendrick hadn’t even been recognized yet
