interesting listen for sure. it actually made me appreciate iridescence more in some spots, bc Ameer doesn’t actually add all that much to the songs that he’s on - this is cdq but i don’t think jt was mixed/mastered yet so some of the 199x tracks actually sound better in their released non Ameer form. and interesting to see that some of the darker tracks that made it to iri were actually written when s*** was all still gravy with everyone

i could write an essay about what this album dropping would’ve meant for these guys, what it would’ve meant for me, and rap as a whole but i won’t cuz it’s ktt. it’s easy to imagine what could’ve been but maybe it was always gonna shake out how it did. maybe iridescence is the only logical conclusion to an experiment like this where you watch in real time as flawed people give it their all for art. it’s messy and imperfect but i’m glad we got it and im glad we finally got this too. feels like the proper goodbye we never got

not sure how i feel about his after a couple listens tbh. the songs that made it to iri x best days of our lives ended up much better than they are here. some of the other snippets/leaks like hurting my wrist or all my kin would be better fits than some of the tracks here. kind of underwhelming, but happy to say we finally have it. i love their discography so it woulda been cool to see what puppy could have been but idk, i gotta sit with it a lil more. obv the unfinished nature doesnt help it, i just feel like what came after is much better than this, kinda lessens the pain of never getting it in 2018
