To be honest, U2 hate is like J Cole hate. It only exists online. I've talked to lots of different people different races and ages over the years and nobody has EVER said s*** about U2

idk, i feel like U2 still gets a decent amount of hate irl just because of the sheer popularity mostly. I've even read that a lot of people in their native Ireland hate them just because they're sick of them at this point lol. you can probably find a lot of boomer progressive rock stans or punks that hate that kind of commercial music

hm, interesting take. can see that though, their definitely "extremely popular" and everyone knows about them. but yeah i'd be lying if i said there wasn't better acts than them.
