Had a first date awhile ago. Wore a black uniqlo U tee, a nice forest green wool jacket, and tapered trousers with some chukka boots. She told me I was super "fashionable" lol
It doesn't really matter, just look put-together. If you smell nice and don't look like your mom dressed you, you're good. Just know your audience.
What really matters more is your haircut and if you've trimmed/shaved your facial hair, since that'll be the first thing that they see and remember.
