  • I used to directly transfer music to my iPhone using Itunes, and would stream music using my dad’s AM account.

The full direct transfer process was as such:

    1. On laptop running a Windows OS drag album folder from file explorer into Itunes

    2. Connect iPhone to laptop

    3. In iTunes, drag album from library into iPhone folder, which would pop up on the left hand side of my screen.

I wanted to favorite songs and make playlists, so I needed to change an option on my iPhone to sync settings.

Since then, I can’t use my direct download method anymore. Instead I’m supposed to sync my library with AM on iTunes, but my library on there is massive and my laptop isn’t the best. My laptop crashes before the process is complete, on my iPhone all the albums show up, but I can’t listen to most of them.

All I want is an easy way to listen to albums that aren’t on streaming on my iPhone lol

  • I don’t really understand what you’re asking for. I still manually sync offline local downloads of my 25,000 song iTunes (“Music”) library from my Mac to every iPhone and iPad I buy. If your computer can’t do what you need it to do then buy a better computer

It’s simple you just put the thing in the thing and then the thing does the thing. Hope this helps! Edit: thanks for the gold, kind stranger!

  • Try to use AM sync if you can. I used to manually sync too but letting AM do it is just way more convenient. You can sort songs that they occasionally match incorrectly and reupload those if you're preserving your local files.

yeah apple is ridiculous for not letting you stream local files in the native iOS music player

@op try downloading UTM on your phone and set up a windows VM, download itunes and add your music onto there

I had the Sync Library toggle on, so I couldn’t transfer music. The option was missing from my settings, and I couldn’t change it.

My iPhone updated the other day, and when i checked today i found it. The issue should be fixed now lol
