Brain drain, corrupt officials, and most of all economic imperialism from western powers is the reason why poverty consists today. Economic imperialism is rooted within Capitalism, because it is the logic of capital to expand to new, unused markets.

To remove imperialism you need Communism to ultimately remove the profit model.
