When I was in college, I was fortunate that there was another gay guy who lived next door to me in my dorm, so we became friends and he took me to my college’s pride center/club. I made more friends that way and started getting invited to gay parties where I met more people.

So I think your pride center is a great place to go to make gay friends, you probably won’t vibe with everyone but you just need to meet a few people.

Otherwise, imo just being more involved in more programs at school in general is always good because you’re meeting more people and they may introduce you to other gays

Thanks for the advice. I know of at least an ally program my school has, I’ve been thinking about going through with that. I’m not sure what clubs we have in that sense - we do have an LGBTQ office and activity fairs though, so I’ll have to find out.

Feels like for some reason I had this idea that I’d meet tons of gay people in college after high school, but on the same hand I guess I haven’t been putting in the effort to lol.

Yeah I’m sure that your college has some kind of lgbt events group/club/center that host mixers and events you can meet people at.

And meeting people definitely comes down to how much effort you’re putting in! I can empathize with it feeling difficult - I went to college in a more conservative area so there were no gay bars or real centralized places lgbt people gathered. I didn’t really know any other gay people either until I started hanging out with the other gay guy from my dorm and started going to club meetings with him. You definitely get out as much as you put in

It's a 45 minute trip south, and I don't want to take my car that far until it's fixed. The bumper is hanging off, and my man doesn't have a car.

Yeah we were lucky. I was keeping up with the slow heavy traffic, and the person who hit us was going like 60 mph. I think I hit the person in front of me, but for some reason they didn't stick around.

I was hanging out with this guy earlier this year and thought we had a bit of a connection, but he left the country for 6 months (he’s an officer in the marines and went on deployment and we had only been talking for like a month, so I kind of just let it go even though i felt like we were vibing)

Anyway, I saw him post on ig this weekend that he’s back, and I slid into his DM’s (which I literally never do) and asked him if he wanted to hang out and catch up, and he said he’d be down once he gets back from a vacation he’s about to go on

I’m glad I grew a pair and just messaged him, instead of hoping he would message me like I normally would
