Honestly a tad disappointed with this one. QC seems to be drowning in some of these murky beats (King In Black, Feed the Heads) and that Denmark Vessey verse really ain't it
Listened twice now. First listen I felt a little disappointed too. But second listen really broke me - in the good way.
I think anyone who's coming into this with IC2 in mind will find it jarring and ultimately disappointing. I love Quelle's self-production though - and Lullabies for the Broken Brain has been my go-to instrumental album for a minute now. Lot of this feels very akin to that. Quelle's beats are always chunky and clunky and he definitely didn't tone it down - which I'm glad for cause I missed that style.
On his patreon he had described the album as 'chaotic, dark, dingy and very sad' - it's definitely that. When it hits, it hits hard. Another cool patreon tidbit, while making the album he would post 'mess mixes' which were 5-10 minutes long super rough, unmixed loops in various stages of completion. And then he would ask which elements people liked. The beat for 'Excuse My Back' is one I had picked out. Was a pleasant surprise to hear it in full fruition.
Good project but prob my least favorite of his that ive heard, between both innocent countrys BYIG and guns
Title track
Look, I kicked a couple habits trying to live for something
But in the end what's within? Nothing
On first listen, but I love the raw production on this. Some of it sounds a bit more like some if his older stuff imo.
@sab new album
i don't rank my top albums of the year once they hit my top 10 but this is absolutely one of them

Quelle never disappoints
this one seems like it'll grow on me, but after a few listens it's so atmospheric and well crafted. again shows how he's one of the best rappers when it comes to making a cohesive album
