I'm sure I've said something similar to this before, but I'm watching The Hateful Eight extended series again and it is so, so good. The extended serial version is the best version of this film, and the film as a whole is tremendous. I put it above Django, and pretty high up on the QT rankings. I honestly think it's sort of a perfect film, similar in its perfection to Inglourious Basterds (though I would still put IB above it).

Yea, H8 is underrated in my view. The score is one of the best scores ever, tbh. Shout out Ennio Morricone for blessing this film (RIP).

And I still hope he does the same extended serial format with Once Upon A Time because I feel that would similarly benefit from the re-formatting.

Ppl hate me for this but

Inglourious Basterds - Django - Hateful Eight my holy QT trinity

They are the ones i enjoy the most, yes even more than Pulp Fiction

doing a Tarantino run including films hes written too (from dawn till dusk, true romance, and four rooms).

I enjoy everything hes done, not the biggest fan of Death Proof, I enjoy it but I really have to be in the mood for it.

although it was a little rude, I love Bill Maher for telling Quentin he's dumb for wanting to quit after 1 more movie

Tarantino smart for quitting after 1 more movie tbh

Cinema is dead so he is choosing the right time to get out before he becomes one of those old dudes begging for a streamer to fund their next movie

Lord only knows how much love I have for QT. I fully support him ending his career after his 10th. No better way to solidify his legacy.

I’m all good with him transitioning to books and maybe some directing on shows but no more Quentin Movies if he doesn’t want to.

agreed. Yeah you can find guys in their old age making great movies, but he is absolutely right that most of these guys from Spielberg to Coppola to Scorsese to Brian De Palma all went from a time when they were at the absolute peak to either making disappointing movies or just stuck trying to get funds or support to make their next one which is inevitably going to be seen by a small ass crowd.

I mean hell, even Fincher has already fallen from his status to now being Netflix tier. Tarantino smart to get out while hes on top.

you could argue Once Upon a Time in Hollywood is not exactly the typical crowdpleaser either

People went for Tarantino. Finchers name don’t hold the weight it used to

Yeah but I feel Kill Bill, IB and Django are way more likely to catch someone’s eye because of how action oriented or subject matter grabbing they are for what’s popular in movie going whereas movies about Hollywood just kinda go into the Oscar bait crowd and don’t really attract as big a audience
