Obviously, it’s supposed to be a two-hander, but it’s also drastically obvious that it’s not a two-hander. Dano is weak sauce, man. He is the weak sister. @opQT has stated this opinion years ago so it's not like it's new. I'm fine with his opinion - i don't agree with him and I think he overstates Dano being bad in the movie, but it's not some crazy take. I somewhat agree that the movie could be improved with another actor in that role.
but it's rude to Dano for QT to say this publicly again and again when speaking of TWBW. like cmon man it's fine to say this opinion as much as u want in private, but in an interview it's not cool to s*** on an actor this much.
on the other hand, is QT supposed to dial down his movie takes because he's such a renowned director? does he need to muffle himself for the sake of Dano's feelings? or do we like that QT lets it rip with his opinions? I think we all like that he is so upfront with his movie takes (or maybe not - maybe some ppl want him to shut up on speaking of other peoples movies). this is a case where he just crosses the line too much into personally attacking dano's skills

It is some crazy take to me in fact him referring to it as a 2 hander feels misguided to me, outside of make some great films he’s always been absolutely dweeb to me so it’s not like I give much weight to his takes on things lol
