He didn't really say that the album is as good as all those classics tho he was just listing examples of albums that were a departure from an artist's typical style. Thread overreacting
Yeah maybe I'm bugging but I didn't see him compare Yachty's album to the others mentioned, outside of them being in the category of a "departure album." Which is true enough. People just read and react too fast.
is the criticism toward the album that it is very derivative? which is true but i dont see other acclaimed albums get the same treatment
Im glad people really wanna see a black artist break into another lane and give people something new to follow and listen too but,are people really willing to die on this Lil Yachty hill?
you're just memeing bc "haha lil yachty" just give credit where it's due, this is an impressive project no matter which way you slice it
well the album deserves its flowers
Yachty deserves respect more then anything for going this route, but its obvious that standards have been lowered to the depths of hell. If labels can blackball artist and do smear campaigns,I'm pretty sure they can attempt to manufacture greatness in this digital age.

yeee i actually agree with that last part

Is it impressive because of lil Yachty or is it impressive because of all of the collaborators that worked on it? Imo, Lil Yachty is the worst part of his own album.

he makes good music
where was this energy for wlr
The d***riding that this is receiving actually reminds me of the d***riding that WLR gets
It’s why I’m not really tripping

most of the criticism i've seen (and can agree with) is that musically, it's a triumph
but Yachty's efforts vocally and/or writing wise drag it down. also been seeing that insert other artist here does/could do this sound better.
This s*** is actually very polarizing too ..
This decades Yeezus ⁉️😳
Sorry but ban

eh but its impossible to know how much yachty contributed to this project. did he compose the songs? the melodies? did he produce? we can only speculate. the vocals are just a taste thing either you like them or not

This pretty much. Too much credit for overseeing moments he himself can’t ever recreate without years of practice. The nigga couldn’t make a 4 bar loop last year
he makes good music
I actually liked Poland and in some ways,I like this new album but,I'd rather just listen to other stuff in the vein of "Lets Start Here".

He can’t produce/compose as of last year and it’s on video. He had the help of 3-4 exceptional musicians who have been involved with Beyonce, Solange, Yves etc. Yachty came in and laid vocals and made sure the album sounded like the ones he’s heard from the genre
