When Kanye and Push worked on the album Push already had the lyrics written right?
And all they had to do was produce beats for it?
I’m asking because that’s what I believe yet he sounds in pocket and perfect on the beats even tho he didn’t write the lyrics to em. Whereas Nas doesn’t sound in pocket at all.
What I’m thinking is even tho Push didn’t write to those beats, he recorded over the KanYe beats.
Whereas Nas already had his vocals recorded and Ye tried to make his beats fit the accapellas
There’s a huge difference between not writing to a specific beat VS not recording to a specific beat
why would you just assume he already had all the bars prewritten ?
but i'm sure some were old bars he re worded or f***ed around with to fit and i'm sure there were some new ideas too.
Ye produced around nas acapellas? That’s weird yet explains a lot

either Kanye or Push said (i forget who) that Push had those songs pretty much done but with different beats and Kanye heard it and was like " nah let me redo those beats for you" or something like that

obviously that notion came from someone
also the original If you know you know leaked with the original beat

according to Push from the JBP Nas and Ye worked on Nassir together in the studio when Joe asked him why it sounded like the verses were recorded over other beats
either Kanye or Push said (i forget who) that Push had those songs pretty much done but with different beats and Kanye heard it and was like " nah let me redo those beats for you" or something like that
Pusha said it

I always thought when push said this that he was talking about him having different songs and ye was like I can do those beats better and they made a new album with obviously songs like IYKYK being remade. I mean ye did have push make a list of what songs from other artist he was inspired by

nah i think the lyrics was done, i'm about 95% sure Pusha said he doesn't let his lyrics go to waste
I recall him saying that during the MBDTF era when Ye made him rewrite his Runaway verse and he said he would use it on another song
Also he's stated that "Ye will loop a beat and then you go write to it and record to it, and then he comes back with your s*** on a whole new beat, bye bye beat you loved that s*** gone now, that's his process"
