Do you find yourselves separating Drake the actor from Drake the artist completely like they are 2 different people?

Been doing a Degrassi binge since I never watched it in its entirety. I actually really love the show. But that aside, when watching the first 6 or so seasons that had "Jimmy" I never really acknowledged him as Drake, but as a completely different person.

I think in the show the only time I ever really felt like I was watching Drake was this scene

Fast forward to modern timesm Drake ofc did the mini reuninon with the Im Upset video. Even when watching this I didn't feel like I was watching a Drake music Video, I felt like I was watching Jimmy.

You know I dont even know if any of this actually makes sense. I just wanted an excuse to make a Drake/Degrassi thread lmfao.

I think it would be really cool if we saw Drake acting more again. I genuinely loved his acting. I wish the reboot was still happening and he was in it.

I get exactly what you’re saying. Like obviously subconsciously you know that’s Drake, but in the show you see and treat him strictly as Jimmy.

Def not till the real later seasons when you can’t unsee the fact that you’re watching Drake, especially since that’s when he was starting to get bigger IRL

It’s just a part of the legacy. I still remember when I heard I’m Still Fly and I was like “damn that’s Jimmy Brooks?”

When graduation came around you definitely couldn't overlook him as Drake at that point. Its also funny to me when they tried to make him rap at the begining of the show. Its almost day and night compared to him rapping in the later seasons (show written raps vs Drake written raps)

I lowkey wish I could have had this reaction. I knew he was in Degrassi but I didn't get to really watch it growing up. He was almost like a brand new person to me when he started getting put on HNHH. I just knew him as the guy from the show in the wheelchair (and my dumbass really thought he couldn't walk fr )
