If I restrict someone, will their stories/posts still pop up on my feed?

I know they aren't able to see when you're active, nor can they comment or message me without my approval, but I don't want to deal with their s*** posting 24/7.
I don't want to block them either since they're close to me irl.

Go to their page, click on following then click mute then mute their posts, stories and reels so they dont pop up
