Oct 24, 2022According to CNN, Schaller, a German national, and four other German nationals and a pilot, were aboard the private flight on Friday when air traffic controllers lost contact with the plane.
Among the German nationals were Schaller’s partner, Christiane Schikorsky, and two minor children.
Schaller is listed as “Founder, Owner and CEO of the RSG Group,” a company that includes 21 fitness, lifestyle and fashion brands that operate in 48 countries.
According to the Ministry of Public Security, the coast guard conducted a search operation in the Caribbean Sea around 5 a.m. and found the remains of an aircraft about an hour later.
“Pieces have been found that indicate that this is the aircraft,” Martín Arias, Costa Rica’s assistant security minister, said. “Up to now we have not found any bodies dead or alive.”
The airplane parts were found 17 miles from Costa Rica’s Limon Airport.
