Food and Liquor
The Cool
Lasers
Food and Liquor II: The Great American Rap Album
Tetsuo and Youth
Drogas Wave
Drill Music in Zion
My number one might be Tetsuo and Youth. The top 3 is kinda tough though.
In order:
TC
T&Y
F&L
DW
DMIZ
LASERS
F&L2
DL
Feel like you can’t really knockout TC, F&L & T&Y for his top 3
DMIZ & DW feel like they can be interchangeable but I give the upper hand to DW
LASERS is actually a better body of work than F&L2 but F&L2 has some classic Lupe tracks
DL was literally a project of throwaways so yeah that’s last by default
Food & Liquor
The Cool
Tetsuo & Youth
DROGAS Wave
Drill Music In Zion
Food & Liquor 2
Lasers
DROGAS Light
Food and Liquor 10/10
The Cool 10/10
Tetsuo & Youth 10/10
Lasers 7/10
Drogas Wave 6/10
Drill Music in Zion 6/10
Drogas Light 2/10
F&L2 0/10
Tetsuo & Youth
Drogas Wave
Drill Music in Zion
Food & Liquor (last track brings it down tbh. would be higher without it.)
The Cool (have to relisten tho)
F&L2
Lasers
Drogas Light
Food & Liquor
The Cool
Tetsuo & Youth
DROGAS Wave
Drill Music In Zion
Food & Liquor 2
Lasers
DROGAS Light
I don’t know if there’s an official Lupe thread but I listened to Lasers in full for the first time a couple weeks back and I have some opinions.
First off, the album isn’t terrible. Now that wasn’t as much as a surprise to me but I do know that people love to rip this project the shreds and you know what? It’s actually got some pretty good songs on it. This album is obviously the result of label issues. This album was slated to release in like what? 2010? I think I read that he had long been done with the album way before 2011 and unfortunately you can tell. This album’s biggest sin is that it’s dated. I can’t believe this is an album that was released in 2011. Amongst his rap peers who were putting out albums like Take Care, Section 80, Ambition, The Dreamer The Believer, Watch the Throne, Return of 4eva, Camp etc…
You listen to those albums listed and then listen to Lasers and it’s like two different eras.
Hip hop had long moved past this sound like Lupe was creating on Lasers and that’s unfortunate because I think if this came during its intended time frame, it wouldn’t have been hated as much. I still think it wouldn’t have been loved but at least it would’ve made more sense.
Anyways I still love All Black Everything. I think it was super dope he was talking about Israel Palestine conflict on Words I Never Said… I mean hearing this song made me WISH there were more mainstream rappers speaking on s*** like this on the regular, feel like Lupe is one of a kind when it comes to that. I’ve always loved The Show Goes On since I was a kid. Out of my Head is cool too.
Idk just my two cents. What everybody else think about it?

The production on that album is really horrible and outdated. The same with most the songs and the hooks.
There are some standouts but it's really not a good album

I got a love/hate relationship with Lasers, I love the singles on that album.
