Still nobody has answered why Future has more double-platinum albums than J. Cole does

Because I'd much rather listen to Future than J Cole post-FHD.

If I had to guess, many other people feel the same way.

In the 2010s, cole album for album is stronger plus first week sales cole wins.

Cole album for album is stronger BOLD friend.

  • This is beyond the big three s***, nobody who’s saying that Cole has a bigger impact than Future would also argue that he’s more influential than Future…cause he isn’t…so why is the impact thing even being said?

How does he have a bigger impact than someone who has shaped the image and sound of rap x100 more than him?

  • Pluto, Monster, Honest, DS2, were all big but future and hip hop weren’t getting properly represented in billboard charts until streaming changes post 2016

Mask Off was his first uber mega hit and that was 2017. All these monster smash achievements niggas keep bringing up never happened until late 2010s well after that discussion had been settled

And needed Bad and Boujee Migos and Barter 6 Thug who were either doing their own tours or co-headline tours

he’s not bigger than Cole or more of a staple. he’s huge in his own lane with Thug, Migos and them and that’s it

The guy with the third-most songs all-time on the Hot 100 is in the same league as guys who aren’t even the Top 50… okay

Cole got 3 albums with 369k+ , Future might have dropped more and got accomplishments off that, but I wouldn’t say he’s ever dominated. the closest he got was I Never Liked You era with a big album + single and Dot dropped 2 weeks later so that moment was nulled quick lmfao

future had biggest solo album from 2022. if we talking this decade he def got cole beat

Why are y’all limiting the conversation to first-week sales?

If Cole has all these albums with huge first-weeks, shouldn’t he have more double-platinum albums than Future?

He doesn’t have to balance being a hit maker with being a lyricist and coming up with concepts outside of hedonism which is generally popular subject matter among the masses

Kendrick Lamar has to balance this as well and he has more double-platinum albums than Future

    Ok

The argument isn’t Dot vs Cole I feel like that point is irrelevant

  • I am one of them.

That’s not even an argument nor should they be in the same sentence.

    Ok

The argument isn’t Dot vs Cole I feel like that point is irrelevant

Because you’re acting like Cole has the odds against him being a lyrical conscious rapper and trying to be commercial

But there’s another guy in the Big 3 who does the exact same thing and is just as if not more commercially successful than Future, so clearly that’s not the reason

Cole gets to be in the big three, yet off the top of my head, I can name five of his contemporaries with discographies that blow his out the water.

But whenever I do that, Cole stans run to sales...which is hilarious because they are the same people who will say that sales don't determine quality.

It’s niggas itt now agreeing with me what you talking about gang

But even if there wasn’t KTT is a known hub for Cole haters so that really isn’t a fair assessment of the actual world

Just go outside and ask people bro I can tell you now that the majority of my coworkers rate Cole higher than Drake and Kendrick

Obviously lm not saying I agree I’m just saying that is a valid rap opinion that exists
